KEN COLAO TOURS NJIT GUESTS THROUGH LANDMARK TAMMANY HALL CONVERSION

NJIT Tammany Tour

CNY President and CEO Ken Colao was proud host to CNY and Colao Family Scholarship Recipients from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) for a tour of his firm’s project at Tammany Hall and a subsequent dinner in November. Colao, a 1977 graduate of NJIT’s Newark College of Engineering, was joined by Hillier College of Architecture and Design Dean Branko Kolarevic, Development Director Janet Robertson, current students and select alumni.

The tour covered the history of the 1929 Landmark building and the considerable lengths CNY has gone to preserve the structure’s façade while accomplishing a gut renovation and modernization of the property to serve as a mixed-use retail and commercial office space for leading-edge technology tenants. Following the tour, guests and select members of the CNY team continued the thought-provoking conversation over dinner at Irvington restaurant, located across the street in the W New York – Union Square hotel.

Ken is a member of the NJIT Board of Overseers and chairs the Board of Advisors at the J. Robert and Barbara A. Hillier College of Architecture and Design.
